About Meadow Farm Recording
Owner: Dennis Phelps
Meadow Farm is owned and operated by musician, engineer, producer, Dennis Phelps. Dennis started his first recording studio in 1978 and has continued to learn and expand his recording knowledge and gear.
Dennis has a passion and drive to record great sounds and capture great performances. He has over 20 years experience working in the recording field with both complete bands and solo songwriters. The guitar is Dennis's main instrument, but he can also play bass guitar, program drum parts, or add percussive or keyboard embellishments. Dennis still gigs regularly, so he knows and has access to many of the best musicians in the area, who will come down and lay some magic down on your recording.
As a guitar player, Dennis's style is mainly rock, pop, and blues. Although not a jazz player, Dennis has had the great fortune to have played alongside jazz greats Percy Heath, Toots Thielmans, and Dave Weckl. Dennis's guitar playing on the recordings adds the texture and the sweetening, although he is more than happy to set up the Les Paul and Marshall.
Dennis knows you'll be happy working in his studio. There's lots of space to stretch, and the sound is crisp and exciting. This large space helps because Dennis likes to record as much of the band playing live as possible. Believing that there's nothing like being in the same room together to cut rhythm tracks. Call to learn more about Meadow Farm Recording or to come down and check out a great recording studio, you'll be glad you did.
